Barley Macca Meda 75 Cl.

After having explored the Belgian tradition for a long time, the Sardinian brewer Nicola Perra, launches himself into a new "very crazy" adventure (Macca Meda, in the Sardinian language) with a beer close to an American Amber Ale. Barley's Macca Meda appears intense amber, with an imposing cap of very persistent white foam. On the nose there are notes of white fruit, orange and apricot and secondarily peppery given by First Gold, a British wolf grown in Belgium in the Poperinge area, a very unusual choice for an American amber ale. As it warms up, the malty soul of the American Amber Ale of caramel, biscuit and red fruit also comes out. Citrus, bitter and spicy coexist in harmony on the palate, directing us towards an explosive aftertaste characterized by peppery hints and a clear bitter astringency. The work of the malted base is also excellent, accentuated by a very neutral yeast which supports an impressive bitterness and brings interesting notes of caramel and biscuit.
