Il Mastio Rock Noel
Il Mastio's Christmas beer is inspired by Belgian abbey kerstbiers, full-bodied, alcoholic beers made for the cold months, often flavored with the spices typical of the desserts of this period. In this case Rock Noel involves the use of ginger in the boiling phase. A part of the crush is sometimes destined for barrel aging in Vin Cotto barriques. Poured into the glass it appears intense amber, almost tawny in reflections. The nose is struck by notes of caramel, red fruit, dried fruit (figs, almonds, hazelnuts) and the spicy notes of ginger. In the mouth the taste is full, sweet and malty lingering on red fruit and caramel. Excellent alcoholic warming which is partly dried up by the spicy freshness of ginger.
