Description
Abstrakt 10 - LA IMPERIAL BROWN ALE 11, 5% limited edition 9872
Abstrakt AB: 10 is an Imperial Brown Ale aged for 4 months in oak barrels, previously used for the aging of a sweet Spanish red wine. It is a robust, full-bodied beer, with a complex flavor of berries, vanilla, toasted marshmallows, caramelized malt, balanced by a moderate bitterness and a satisfying toastiness. (www.brewdog.com)
Abstrakt is one of Brewdog's parallel experiments. A line of bottlings born in April 2010 which can be defined as "conceptual", through which Brewdog communicates all its desire to experiment with new alchemies between hops, malts and every ingredient suitable for "fermentation". In some editions the beers are aged in barrels to absorb the characteristics of the wood as well as some oxidation. The Abstrakt are produced in 4 editions per year and are numbered from AB01 onwards, with completely different styles, recipes and ingredients at each bottling. The alcohol content of beers is always important and makes them suitable for aging. A particular emphasis is placed precisely on this aspect by Brewdog, which recommends a long maturation in the bottle, in order to appreciate its evolution.
