Description
Brewed in the heart of Scourmont Abbey, Chimay Dorée has long been produced only for the use and consumption of the abbey's monks, only recently becoming a product also marketed externally (albeit in limited quantities). Like many counterparts from other Trappist breweries, it is among the "Singels", more sessionable beers that tend to fall within the light Belgian Blonde Ale. On the nose stand out notes of yellow fruit, spices and a light herbaceous and floral hop note. The very attenuating Belgian yeast characterizes a drink which, while remaining sweet, stands out for its dryness and ease of consumption.
