Chimay Rouge/Première 33 Cl.

Chimay Rouge is a magnificent amber beer with ruby ??reflections. Produced by the Cistercian monks of Scourmont Abbey, it is a Trappist beer. This means among other things that it is produced within the monastery itself by the monks themselves. Out of curiosity, it is the oldest of the Chimay produced, the recipe was created by Father Theodore after the Second World War. The result is astonishing. In its glass Chimay has the appearance of an amber beer with red coppery reflections topped by a creamy foam. Even on the nose it is magnificent. Includes fruit flavors produced during fermentation, such as apricot. Malt notes are also perceived. In the mouth it is surprising: the dry flavors of caramel perfectly compensate for the bitter aftertaste. Curiosity: like the other two more historic beers marketed by the abbey, the Rouge also changes name depending on the format, in this case in the 75 Cl format. it becomes "Premiere" being the first beer historically produced.
