A top-fermented beer aged in cans and kegs. A deep, hazy antique gold in color, Hard Sun boasts a compact, white head with excellent persistence. The aroma is fresh with elegant herbaceous notes. The saison blend yeast dominates the aroma with its rustic, spicy notes. Wildflowers and yellow-fleshed fruit take center stage. The underlying aroma of wheat, used in three different forms, lends a rustic touch and enriches the bouquet of this beer. On the palate, hints of crackers and white bread, wildflowers, and ripe fruit are detected. The finish is pleasantly bitter and herbaceous. The body is light and the carbonation lively, making it easy to drink. Pair with spicy (curry) and roasted white meats, fish or shellfish dishes, mixed salads with seasonal vegetables, and finally with blue cheeses.
