Description
The Canadians at Flyng Monkeys gave us this immense 17% ABV Barley Wine matured in wooden barrels following the Solera method. With a menacingly dark appearance, almost flat in terms of carbonation, it has intense toasted notes of cocoa and liquorice, notes of dried fruit, plum and oxidative notes of wood and liqueur wine. On the palate it is very soft, almost viscous in consistency, liqueur-like and vinous. The malts bring purely dried and toasted fruit notes. In the finish, a slight astringency given by the tannins of the wood cleans the palate just enough.
