Description
Goose Island Beer Co.’s Reserve Rye Bourbon County Brand Stout 2019 is an Imperial Stout that shows how a premium single source barrel can shape the nuances and flavors of the original Bourbon County. Goose Island’s stout is aged entirely in Rittenhouse Rye barrels, lovingly known as “the bartender’s favorite”, a rye whiskey that leaves an unmistakable imprint of fruit and spice on the beer. In the glass, the dark, deep base of the Imperial Stout intertwines with the lively character of the rye: fruit appears with elegance, spice punctuates the sip with a dry, aromatic note, while oak and roasted malt support it all with a rich, enveloping body. Reserve Rye accentuates everything that makes both Rittenhouse and Bourbon County unique, in a balance of power and refinement. Best served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass or small snifter, enjoyed on its own at the end of a meal or alongside aged cheeses, dark chocolate desserts and dried fruit. A vintage made for enthusiasts, to be kept in the cellar and reopened at leisure.
