Description
Pühaste Brewery brings to its Baltic Porter an ingredient that belongs to the deepest soul of northern Europe: the wild bilberry — Vaccinium myrtillus — the small dark fruit that grows spontaneously among the forests and bogs of the Baltic region, more intense, more wild and more aromatic than any cultivated blueberry. A local, seasonal and unrepeatable ingredient — one that transforms an already extraordinary Baltic Porter into something entirely unique. The Baltic Porter is Pühaste's home style — a brewing tradition rooted in the Baltic Sea and its shores, with its lager fermentation delivering smoothness, cleanliness and a depth that few other styles can match. With Momentum, the brewery adds a new chapter to this story: the wild bilberry enters into dialogue with the dark malts, coffee and chocolate, bringing a fruity, wild and lightly tannic dimension that elevates the beer's complexity to an entirely new level. In the glass it pours an impenetrable, captivating black-purple — the bilberry already making its presence felt visually — topped by a fine, creamy plum-coloured head that fades slowly. On the nose it is an extraordinary encounter between two worlds: dark chocolate, roasted coffee and dark malt intertwine with the fruity, floral and lightly tart notes of wild bilberry, creating a bouquet that smells of forest, damp earth and freshly picked berries. On the palate the body is full, smooth and velvety — the unmistakable signature of lager fermentation. Notes of cocoa, coffee, liquorice and caramel malt unfold generously, while the bilberry makes its unmistakable entrance: wild berries, blackberry, bilberry and a delicate tannic note that adds freshness and tension to every sip. The finish is long, lightly tart and balsamic — with a persistence that evokes a walk through the forest at dawn. Momentum — like a force that builds slowly over time, sip after sip, until it becomes utterly irresistible.
