Separatist Strange Landscapes: Sauvignon Blanc
The first experiment in a line of hybrids between Farmhouse Ale and wine, it is produced on the basis of a Farmohuse Ale fermented for a year in French oak barrels for a year. It is then matured and macerated on Sauvignon Blanc grapes before being "finished" in freshly emptied Russian River Valley white wine barrels. Very floral on the nose, white grapes, citrus, yellow fruit, wood, funky earthy and cellar notes. Rustic on the palate, very vinous, with a slight acidity with lactic and citric tones. Savory and mineral in the finish with hints of tannin.
