Side Project Burk (collaboration Angry Orchards)
Sour Brown Ale co-fermented with wild apples from the innovative New York cider maker Angry Orchards. It then matures for a year in Puncheon (a wooden barrel measurement representing approximately one third of a Tun which is the largest measurement and corresponds to 252 gallons) of French oak before being bottled. On the nose dried fruit, caramel, red fruit, balsamic vinegar, apple cider vinegar, wood, slight cellar funkiness. Medium dry on the palate, with notes of dried and red fruit. The acidity is very vinous and of medium intensity with slight touches of acetic. Wood tannin in the finish.
