Podere La Berta’s Cometa is a 6% Saison born from a collaboration with ABC Brewing of Florence, conceived as a saison d’hiver: the rustic farmhouse soul of the style is dressed in spice and sets off on the road to Christmas. It is guided by a blend of peppers from Indonesia and across Asia, white pepper, black pepper, long pepper, timut and cubeb, chosen to build an aromatic journey of warmth, citrus notes, resinous nuances and a faintly balsamic touch. In the glass the saison tradition, with its dryness, lively carbonation and the spicy, fruity character delivered by the yeast, meets the complexity of pepper, which lights up the nose and leaves a warm, elegant trail on the palate, never aggressive. Spiced, refined and intriguing, Cometa accompanies the festive season the way the star guided the Magi: to be shared at the table, with aged cheeses, roasted meats and Christmas sweets, or savoured slowly on winter evenings.
