Paoletti Chinotto (12x27.5 Cl.) VAP is an Italian soft drink produced by Paoletti Bevande, available exclusively in packs of 12 returnable glass bottles of 27.5 cl. A dark drink similar in appearance to a cola, it has a flavor profile characterized by predominant bitter notes with a marked fresh aftertaste, deriving from the extract of the Citrus myrtifolia fruit, known as chinotto. The ingredients include water, sugar, flavourings, carbon dioxide, acidifier citric acid, preservative sodium benzoate and caramel coloring E150d, for an average energy content of 222 kJ or 52 kcal per 100 ml, with 13 g of carbohydrates of which 13 g of sugars. One of the historic products of the Paoletti company, together with Spuma and Gassosa, recalls the tradition of Italian drinks with its balance between citrus and caramel, as suggested by the old retro label depicting the fruit. Winner of the Golosario award at the Agrifood of Verona in 2018, this chinotto stands out for its bitter finish suitable for pairing with game-based dishes, mature cheeses or Ligurian cuisine, or served neat or with ice in horeca contexts. The lively carbonation enhances its freshness, making it versatile for daily or professional consumption.
