Hints Historical:
SCHÖFFER'S MASTERPIECE
Schofferhofer derives from the Mainzer Hofbierbrauerei zum Schofferhof, which in 1921 was merged with the then Binding Brauerei of Frankfurt. Schofferhof was a small property, which took its name from Peter Schofferhof von Gernsheim: a character who, in its long history, was also a brewer. Peter Schofferhof gave the property his name and became famous not only for his brewing skills, but as one of Gutenberg's most significant collaborators, contributing to the invention of movable type for printing.
