Description
The Torres family has owned vineyards in Penedès (Catalonia) since the 17th century and in 1870 the wines produced in their vineyards were already exported to Europe, Cuba and Mexico. With 1600 hectares of property planted with the best Spanish and European noble vines, Torres is currently the largest exporter of Spanish DOC wines, present in over 120 countries around the world. The Torres family also owns 350 hectares of vineyards in Curicò (Chile) and 60 hectares in Sonoma (California), where wines of the highest quality and international prestige are produced. Thanks to the exceptional quality-price ratio that makes them truly unique, Torres wines are currently present in the most prestigious restaurants around the world, a guarantee of quality from a large company that has been able to combine the most recent oenological discoveries and centuries-old traditions.
Contains Sulphites.
D.O.C.: Ribera del Duero
Varieties of grapes: 100% Tempranillo.
Alcohol content: 13.5% vol.
Origin: at 895 meters above sea level you can almost touch the sky with a finger; at dusk the air is fresh, regenerating, and during the day the sun illuminates the land in all its splendor.
Here, at 895 meters above sea level,
Celeste is born, the first wine from Torres in Ribera del Duero.
Comments: Celeste is an opulent wine, full of aromas, body and colour, as unique as a night sky in Ribera del Duero. It shows very intense aromas and colour, with spicy notes of liquorice and black pepper on a background of ripe fruit (blackberries and cherries).
On the palate it is persistent, full-bodied, with a good tannic structure.
Serving suggestions: with fruity characteristics and a good tannic structure, this wine preferably pairs with meat dishes, such as roasts and small game.
Serve at a temperature of 16-17 °C.
Further notes: 90/100 on Wine Spectator (2003 harvest).
