Description
The Torres family has owned vineyards in Penedès (Catalonia) since the 17th century and in 1870 the wines produced in their vineyards were already exported to Europe, Cuba and Mexico. With 1600 hectares of property planted with the best Spanish and European noble vines, Torres is currently the largest exporter of Spanish DOC wines, present in over 120 countries around the world. The Torres family also owns 350 hectares of vineyards in Curicò (Chile) and 60 hectares in Sonoma (California), where wines of the highest quality and international prestige are produced. Thanks to the exceptional quality-price ratio that makes them truly unique, Torres wines are currently present in the most prestigious restaurants around the world, a guarantee of quality from a large company that has been able to combine the most recent oenological discoveries and centuries-old traditions.
Contains Sulphites.
D.O.C.: Conca de Barberà.
Varieties of grapes: Monastrell, Garnacha Tinta, Garró, Samsó and Cariñena.
Alcohol content: 14% vol.
Aging: aged in French oak barriques (Nevers and Allier).
Comments: dark garnet red colour. Intense and complex aroma with hints of toasted bread and spices on a background of fruit (small red berries, blackberries and blackcurrants) and elegant notes of ancient leather. Wide and silky on the palate, it presents an elegant tannic structure from which reminiscences of fruit and spices (cloves and nutmeg) emerge as soon as the wine warms up.
The hedonistic and evocative message of other times of this wine grows and expands in the mouth with a sensual slowness that culminates in a long, sublime and memorable finish.
Serving suggestions: this wine is an ideal accompaniment for typical Mediterranean roasts and stews, cooked with tomato and pepper sauces, or with traditional herbs and spices (thyme, oregano, rosemary, basil, bay leaf, pepper).
We recommend decanting this wine at least 30 minutes before serving, in order to better appreciate all its aromas.
Additional notes: PH: 3.6, acidity: 5.3 grs/l (in Tartaric).
It took over 15 years to select this unique collection of ancient Catalan grape varieties, some of which are now almost extinct.
Other formats available: 150 cl.
Awards: Gold Medal at the International Wine Challenge.
