Het Boerenerf’s Gewurz Sur Senne, vintage 2024 in bottle, is a 7.2% ABV fruit lambic born of the meeting between Belgian tradition and Gewürztraminer grapes from Westhoffen, in Alsace. The French grapes underwent five days of cold maceration and were fermented by their indigenous yeasts; the wine then aged for a full year with old lambic in an old wooden foeder. Free of sulfites and fining agents and unfiltered, the beer brings to the glass all the intensity and aromatic depth of this blend: vibrant notes of exotic fruit and floral hints, with a subtle spicy undertone woven into the lambic’s rustic, vinous acidity.
