Description
Eastside Prima Guardia (area restriction, read at the bottom)
11% Imperial Stout enriched with Vietnamese specialty coffee Dung K'no, Ghanaian cocoa beans and American oak cubes previously steeped in Cordial for 2 months. All these "additions" should recreate the flavors of those "comfort" foods given 20 years ago, during guard duty, to conscripts. To the eye, the First Guard is black, impenetrable, topped by a hazelnut-colored foam of rare structure and good persistence. The nose is an explosion of coffee in which vegetal and fruity notes combine with a strong hint of bitter chocolate. In the mouth the coffee dominates the drink initially and is then joined in intensity by the chocolate and as the beer warms up by the aroma of the distillate, with its nuances of cinnamon and citrus fruits. The beer is dense and the low attenuation has left an intriguing silky mouthfeel. The persistence on the palate is very long and enveloping. The carbonation is medium-low.
