VINO Le Coste Bianco R 2023 75 Cl. (BR23)

Azienda Agricola Le Coste’s Bianco R 2023 is a 100% Procanico, born in Gradoli from the Madonna della Quercia vineyard, at 450 metres above sea level with a southern exposure, on loose volcanic soil with silt and pianca. The vines, trained as alberello with 6,000 plants per hectare and an average age of fifteen years, yield a restrained 70 quintals per hectare, and the harvest takes place at the end of September. In the cellar the grapes are 100% destemmed and ferment in oak vats on the skins for 21 days, following the tradition of skin-contact wines, which entrusts the construction of structure and character to time and the skin of the berry. Twenty-two months of maturation in semi-new 5 hectolitre French oak barrels follow, then 24 months of bottle ageing, for just 900 bottles produced. In the glass it shows an intense straw yellow with golden highlights; the nose is broad, floral and fruity, with the sweetness of peach jam and a finish of aromatic herbs. On the palate it is structured and slightly tannic, yet also fresh and savoury as it develops, closing with a beautiful mineral finish that carries the voice of the volcanic soil. At 13% alcohol, it is a white of character and rare depth, telling of the patient work and attentive hand of Le Coste.
